Inaugural 4th of July BBQ Throw-down and Community Picnic
WHEN: Sat, Jul 2, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
WHERE: Bison Ridge Community Park
WHAT: In celebration of our nation’s birthday, several Bison Ridge barbecue pit masters have dropped the gauntlet and agreed to have their meat compared (wait that came out wrong) in a Barbecue Throw-down – all to your benefit. They cook (biscuit, pulled pork, ribs and tri-tip), you enjoy the results of their hard work and vote on your favorite. It’s a (somewhat) friendly competition that will allow the winner bragging rights and smack-talk for a year. If you’d like to showcase your grill-skill too, the event is wide open to entries – just private message me so I can add you to the lineup.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend – neighbors, family, friends. We’re treating as a big 4th of July picnic in the community park complete with corn-hole, horseshoes, other lawn games and music.
All the barbecue will be provided, along with water, soda and some other beverages, so just bring yourselves, a picnic related dish to share, something to sit on if you like (the park has picnic benches) and whatever else you may like to drink.
Just let us know if you are able to join the celebration by going to the event on Nextdoor and selecting ‘going’ or ‘maybe’ if you’re thinking about it so they know how much meat to throw on the smoker.
So we don’t all end up brining potato salad, there is a list started for snacks (chips, dips, chains and whips), sides and desserts. Just shoot an email to firstname.lastname@example.org so they can keep track.
Looking forward to a fun time!
